近日看一電影，其採用了 James blunt 的 Tears & Rain 作為插曲（當中歌詞有部份也是 James blunt 親自編寫），以短短3分鐘的歌曲，卻能細緻詮釋全片主角的心境與人生轉變的緣由。

片中講述一位追求榮譽，年幼便以加入特種部隊為唯一選擇的職業軍人，於經歷幾次戰爭，親眼目睹許多百姓被殺，身在現塲的他，卻無法給予他們任何幫助….，一幕幕家破人亡的慘境與存活的人的空洞眼神，心裡百般無助…，從而離開從軍生涯，並思索自己人生方向。最後，因緣際會下得以進入校園教職，而面對許多來自貧困家境、憤世叛逆的學生，他們除了無心課業，大多也和家人不和。充滿罪惡和失落的他，嘗試用自己的愛與包容教化學子，並把於戰爭中看到的生離死別告知，以修復他們與家人關係….，希望從而能夠給予自己一個心靈撫平和彌補的機會….。

James blunt 有許多弦律優美的歌曲，當中也有講述戰爭相關的故事，不過以描述人生走過的歷程中，做了許多錯誤決定或有違人性價值觀的事，而希望能有重新改過的機會，則正是 Tears & Rain 歌曲所要表達。

I recently came across a movie that uses Tears & Rain by James Blunt as interlude (part of the lyrics is also written by James Blunt). The song portrays how the lead role changes his core value and also his life choices.

The lead role is a soldier who pursues honor. He wanted to join the special forces since a young age. However, he starts to rethink his life choices after several wars. Families are torn apart because of war. He felt hopeless when seeing people being killed infant of him, but he didn’t have the power to save them. He later left the army and rethink his life direction. He found a job as a teacher and have a lot of students with poor family. The students don’t study and have a bad relationship with their family. The lead role tries to change them by telling them stories he saw on the battlefield. He also want to direct them to a better direction through his love and care. By changing the students to a better place, the lead role can finally let go of the guilt and disappointment and finally find peace within his mind.

James Blunt makes beautiful songs, some of them are about wars. Tears & Rain is one of the exception that not only talks about war but also about how people make a wrong life decision and try to fix it.
